The fabulous valley of Glenmalure lies just an hour south of Dublin in the middle of the Wicklow Mountains.

The Tinahely Loop is perfect for a substantial hike, starting and ending in Tinahely, south County Wicklow. The guide says 25km but my ViewRanger route tracking app says 22km. The ‘No Dogs’ condition should be observed for reasons obvious to responsible people.
The official guide suggests parking up and starting from the old Railway Station at Kilcommon Bridge about three kilometers outside the village. Continue reading

The beach at Mbotyi, facing onto the warm Indian Ocean would be it’s main attraction for me.
It is beautiful, golden and completely uncrowded. Cool sea breezes keep the intense heat at bay. But make sure to use copious quantities of sunblock for obvious reasons. Read more…
